I enjoy making these fidget quilts for local alzheimer's and dementa patients.
Since I collect so many odd items for my crazy quilting it seems I always have unusual bits and pieces that come in handy for making fidget quilts. It's nice to know all those extra bits can become something to help brighten someone's day.
Quilt #1
30" X 23"
Ribbon, flannel, rick-rack, organza, cottons, yo-yo's and leftover quilt bocks.
Did you notice the Card Trick block??
Quilt #2
22.5" X 27.5"
Cotton, lace, minky, canvas, cording, knits, flannel and satin.
29" X 20"
Lace, cottons, organza made into puffs, ticking, rick-rack, flannel, leftover quilt blocks.
Quilt #4
20" X 27"
Canvas, flannel, yo-yo's, fringe, cottons, men's tie fabric, 3-D triangles, gold braiding.
Quilt #5
20" X 27"
3-D triangles, yo-yo's, flannel, ribbon, gold braiding, men's tie fabric, rick-rack.
Quilt #6
20" X 27"
cotton 3-D triangles, flannel, drapery braiding, canvas, 3-D flower, leftover quilt block squares, ribbons.
All of the quilts are machine quilted on my domestic machine.
All of the quilts have flannel backing which is wrapped around to the front for more interest.
I'm always looking for new ideas for things to add to my fidget quilts. Please share if you have any fun ideas. I hope by posting my fidget quilts it may inspire someone else to donate to someone in your area.
Remenber everything must be attached really well and be washable. Check with your local organization for what they may need.
Have a beautiful day everyone!
Happy Halloween!
