Today's post is a simple baby quilt using alternating single pinwheel blocks and four square blocks.
The quilt is worked in rows: a row of four square blocks and then a row of pinwheels.
The four squares blocks are 4 - 2.5" X 2.5" squares.
The single pinwheels are four 5" X 5" half square triangle blocks. I make my half square blocks using a 6" square of print with a 6" square of white, sew two diagonal seams and cut in half. Now trim the half square block to the desired 5.5". With this method you have more waste but a perfect block.
Below is a rough diagram of how I put my quilt together.
The quilt is 42" X 42" , cotton backing and meandering quilting on my domestic machine.
The cute 1930's looking fabric is Nana Mae 6 by Henry Glass& co.
Have a wonderful day everyone!
