My Vintage Pillow Project.

I've been working on these two vintage inspired pillows for quite awhile.

Using a vintage tablecloth I have been relaxing hand sewing the details on these pillows.  It's been a fun project to work on in little spirts between other projects.

For each pillow I used about a quarter of the above tablecloth.  The pillows are different sizes and designs but made to compliment each other

Pillow #1 -15" square

The tablecloth was cut in 2 . 5" strips and wove back together . The raw edge is turned under 1/4" and pressed.

A line of big stitches was done on all seam edges.  Embellishments and embroidery stitches were then added.

Pillows #2 - 19" Square

A variety of embroidery stitches were added to enhance the existing print.

The edging on this pillow  is strips of lace twisted around batting strips and hand applied to the outer edge.
The backing for both pillows is a solid off white.  The filling is leftover batting  and quilting scrapes in a flannel pillow liner.

I still have some tablecloth pieces left so you may see another project using this pretty tablecloth in the future.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!
