Today's post is a quick and easy little baby quilt.
Minnesota Baby!
Each block starts with a cute focal print.
After cutting a focal fabric piece I just kept adding strips around it like you would for a log cabin design. Most blocks have two strips on each side of the focal fabric. however, you will see a few blocks with three. It all depends on the width of the strips used.
After I finished each block I just trimmed the blocks to a uniform 9.5" .
After the blocks were joined together I added a 3" finished gray border around.
Quilting is a simple meandering done on my domestic machine.
Backing is Flannel.
Finished size 42" X 42"
To see how I used the focal fabric in a more complicated quilt by checking out my crazy quilt post from November 21, 2018.
(Several of the blocks have leftovers from a panel designed by Barb Tourtillootte and produced by Quiltworks. Other focal pieces fabrics are a black and white Minnesota nature print from my stash.)
Have a wonderful day!
