Blueberry Crumb Cake

 Welcome friends,

I'm calling this one Blueberry Crumb Cake.

This quilt started off with wanting to clean out my stash of small bits of batik fabrics.
I started with 7 gallon size plastic bags of odds and ends, all leftover batiks.  When I finished I only had one gallon size plastic bag left! I use the large plastic bags to collect very small pieces and small odd shaped pieces. Anything square or close to a fat quarter size and larger is stored flat and in a bin.
My process was to  just add one bit after another until I had a rough block shape and then I would start another block.
Everything is very random, as I would cut and piece scrapes together.
It was all really quite fun!
After I finished the blocks I did some machine embroidery along the seams.
I love to crazy quilts but I was looking for a faster and more practical way of getting that look.
I really intend on this being a quilt to be used.

Finished top before quilting.  1.5" inner boarder and 3" outer boarder.
The binding is pieces of various batiks.
Finished quilt 57" X 53", Flannel backing,
Meandering quilting done on my domestic machine.

Hope you are having a wonderful day!
