Vintage Pillow

Vintage Bedspread Remake
This is the bedspread that I had growing up in the early 1960's. I'm not sure if that is technically considered vintage. Whatever it's considered I've always loved it and hoped to reuse it someday, The spread is for a double bed it is a single layer of light weight cotton with french knots in the floral design.
For this project I decided to just use the top part of the bedspread. I will save the wonderful basket design for another future project.

The fabric is very thin and had some damage.
After cutting to size I added a white cotton lining, then batting and the white backing. Quilting was done in a small meandering design around the floral design and blocks of a back and fourth design in the area under the lace.
I had added some of the original lace to cover the large damaged spot.
I added yellow binding for extra pop of color. I stitched in the ditch between the yellow binding and stuffed white body of the pillow so the binding is flat. The pillow was stuffed with feathers from an old feather pillow. What a mess that was but the results are a wonderfully soft pillow.
Finished pillow on king size bed.
Hope you are having a wonderful day!
