Crazy Quilt - 2020 stay at home

Work continues on my Pink Crazy Quilt.  This piece is now going on a year and a half. (See New Project post from 1/12/19).  I love crazy quilts and anything with lots of embellishment.  For me crazy quilting is a slow, relaxing process. I love to just play with all the colors and beads and fun stuff. The problem with all this playtime is often when to stop.
For this piece I'm currently working on adding backing and batting.  In this case I used pink wool from my stash for the batting. The wool was from a dress I found a Goodwill. It's a beautiful color and wonderful weight. I love the way the quilting stitches are sinking into the piece and adding a wonderful dimension .I've been working on hand quilting each of the six blocks in a pink DMC 100% Rayon floss (S899). The floss has a wonderful rich silky look to it.  I've been quilting using a very casual running stitch. Each block is about 12" X 9". I plan on putting the blocks together with a sew as you go technique.  But, more on that process when I start working on it.
