Warning: danger, danger

Like everyone I know I LOVE my rotary cutter system.  What a great tools for any quilter. However, like anything else time and use produces wear.
My favorite ruler is the 6" X 24".  I use that thing all the time.  I knew it had a chip on the side but---well let's be honest I'm cheap.  On my last project I was finding my seams were not an even 1/4".  What's going on??  Well the answer was the chip had worn and the whole edge was uneven.  Now what was really scary was seeing the marks on the ruler from where the blade had jumped up on the ruler at the chip.  So how crazy dangerous was that!!
I now have a nice new ruler.  From now on I will make sure to replace my ruler as soon as any small chips or problems come up.  I was so lucky to only have some wonky seams and that I didn't cut a hand or finger--- badly!

I'm adding a photo I know it's hard to see but please check your tools!  Stay safe!
