Moroccan Tiles is from a pattern designed by Heather Peterson for Anka's Treasures. Heather was a speaker at our quilt guild this year. When she showed her pattern Moroccan Tiles I knew I had finally found the pattern I had been looking for my collection of very special Malaysian Batiks.
For my piece I decorated each block individually with unique embellishments. The blocks have embroidery with various types of threads and beading.

My wall hanging version is 42" X 35.5" .
Cotton backing. Batik fabric used to pipe with black binding.
Black background is a small scale meandering done on my domestic sewing machine.
Blocks forming arabesque design are enhanced with machine stitch in the ditch, then hand embellished.
