Backpack

I was recently given a cute backpack.  Just the right size, light weight, and great colors. It would have been perfect except for the unwanted logo on the front.  I solved the problem with fiber art patch. I used a variety of ribbons, buttons and embroidery set on a vintage quilt block. Finally, I made an overlay using water soluble stabilizer and fine netting with roses.

Step 1 Layer netting and water soluble stabilizer. You can draw your design on the stabilizer if you want. The drawing will dissolve away later.
Step 2 Free motion stitch your design. Make sure to fully cover the area going several directions. The top leaf here really should be fuller.
Step 3 Soak in warm water to dissolve stabilizer.
Step 4 Ato your project.

Now I have a backpack with personality.
