Cherries, Split Rail Fence

This fun quilt was from fabric I was lucky enough to win at a quilt guild meeting.  There were 4 coordinating fabrics, enough happy cherry fabric to make a table runner. Of course I couldn't leave it at a table runner! I added some fabric from my stash to make a finished 49" X 49" lap quilt.
I had fun playing with the fabrics-cutting and twisting them into a take on a traditional split rail fence design. I used 5 rails instead of the more common 4 and 2 of the rails in each block are pieced. The rail blocks are alternated with solid white blocks for a pop.The black and white 4 square patches I made in bulk.
Extras of the black and white patches will be showing up in another quilt soon. The back is a really fun large lime green and white dot. Quilting done on my domestic sewing machine.
